After a week of testing my recent homemade toothpaste, I think I found my forever toothpaste. Haha!
We are almost out of my all time favorite Dr. Bronner toothpaste but I cannot afford to keep buying plus I just found out recently that toothpaste tubes can't be recycled in America. Though, Colgate has announced partnership with TerraCycle toothpaste recycling program in UK.
I have made diy toothpaste before but I keep forgetting them and dries up or didn't like the consistency. This should last us for a very long time. Even the kids use it. I feel better that brushing our teeth knowing the ingredients are natural, safe and effective.
There has been a lot of research done that many of the common toothpaste ingredients are harmful, have known carcinogens and endocrine disruptors. Keep an eye on ingredients like fluoride, sodium laurel sulfate, carageenan, propylene glycol, triclosan, artificial sweeteners and colors.
